Afghanistan
The Afghani notes, a few years ago, were flooding out. Even now they are by no means expensive.

Albania
Albanian notes are one of the lesser issues, by popular lack of demand, but the older notes have a fine Italian influence; do consider whether a few notes might enhance your own collection.

Algeria
The French influence has helped to keep this note series ever popular; every World collector should pick a favourite!

Argentina
The Argentine collecting market is becoming lively again with many prices recovered, although there are still bargains if you look hard and ignore misleading prices.

Australia
Australia has "punched above its weight" in the banknote world for many years now and the local market is strong.

Austria
The Austrian notes have a long history with many interesting notes. Some early notes are still very reasonably priced

Bangladesh
Over two thirds of Bangladesh land is arable and one-sixth is forested but it suffers from fairly frequent flooding. Bangladesh formed part of the British-ruled Indian provinces of Bengal and Assam until 1947 when it became East Pakistan.

Belarus
Belarus is roughly the old Byelorussian landlocked area. The banknote designs feature animals and famous buildings. An ex-USSR member.

Belgium
A Euro issuer , its own now defunct issues favoured portraits of the famous Belgians and the monarchy

Belize
Belize is always popular, having the Queen Elizabeth II portrait on attractive notes.

Bermuda
A group of Islands in the North Atlantic Ocean; Bermuda is a dependent territory of the United Kingdom but with both its economy and currency (B$) tied to the U S dollar. Per capita income is one of the highest in the world and the notes are very popular

Bhutan
Is closely aligned with India. It has very distinctive notes in keeping with its culture. In the news recently for banning tobacco & smoking tobacco in the country.

Bosnia Herzegovina
The assassination of Arch Duke Ferdinand in Bosnia was, of course, the 'lighted taper' that set off the many 'powder kegs' of Treaties and Pacts between different nations and instigated the First World War.

Brasil
Brazil is the "big boy" of South America and full of colour, music and sunshine. Its earlier notes are perhaps more restrained that one would expect but well printed and still showing a Portuguese influence to my eyes.

British West Africa

Burma
The old name for Myanmar, of course. I don't think the Burmese have yet forgiven the Indian soldiers who took Burma for the British, under the command of a few British officers

Cambodia
Cambodia masqueraded under the name of Kampuchea for a time but they have returned to being Cambodia again; well, it sounds prettier, doesn't it!

Canada
Essentially, Canada still maintains the Federation setup by the 1867 British North America Act and is still a constitutional monarchy headed by the "Sovereign of Canada" who looks suspiciously like Elizabeth II to me.

Ceylon

Chile
Chile, famed for its saltpetre deposits, has been independent of Spain for over 180 years now and its currency has echoed its stability in its design. For many years, a' Bank of England' influence was obvious but now it has developed its own style.

China
China's notes are as diverse & varied as one would expect in a country which includes several nations. The one sure thing is that the future for the Chinese note market looks very rosy indeed.
